An-Nazi'at Those who drag forth

1. بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ

   وَٱلنَّـٰزِعَـٰتِ غَرْقًا ۝١

   79:1 By those who drag forth to destruction,

2. وَٱلنَّـٰشِطَـٰتِ نَشْطًا ۝٢

   79:2 By the meteors rushing,

3. وَٱلسَّـٰبِحَـٰتِ سَبْحًا ۝٣

   79:3 By the lone stars floating,

4. فَٱلسَّـٰبِقَـٰتِ سَبْقًا ۝٤

   79:4 By the angels hastening,

5. فَٱلْمُدَبِّرَٰتِ أَمْرًا ۝٥

   79:5 And those who govern the event,

6. يَوْمَ تَرْجُفُ ٱلرَّاجِفَةُ ۝٦

   79:6 On the day when the first trump resoundeth.

7. تَتْبَعُهَا ٱلرَّادِفَةُ ۝٧

   79:7 And the second followeth it,

8. قُلُوبٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ وَاجِفَةٌ ۝٨

   79:8 On that day hearts beat painfully

9. أَبْصَـٰرُهَا خَـٰشِعَةٌ ۝٩

   79:9 While eyes are downcast

10. يَقُولُونَ أَءِنَّا لَمَرْدُودُونَ فِى ٱلْحَافِرَةِ ۝١٠

    79:10 (Now) they are saying: Shall we really be restored to our first state

11. أَءِذَا كُنَّا عِظَـٰمًا نَّخِرَةً ۝١١

    79:11 Even after we are crumbled bones?

12. قَالُوا۟ تِلْكَ إِذًا كَرَّةٌ خَاسِرَةٌ ۝١٢

    79:12 They say: Then that would be a vain proceeding.

13. فَإِنَّمَا هِىَ زَجْرَةٌ وَٰحِدَةٌ ۝١٣

    79:13 Surely it will need but one shout,

14. فَإِذَا هُم بِٱلسَّاهِرَةِ ۝١٤

    79:14 And lo! they will be awakened.

15. هَلْ أَتَىٰكَ حَدِيثُ مُوسَىٰٓ ۝١٥

    79:15 Hath there come unto thee the history of Moses?

16. إِذْ نَادَىٰهُ رَبُّهُۥ بِٱلْوَادِ ٱلْمُقَدَّسِ طُوًى ۝١٦

    79:16 How his Lord called him in the holy vale of Tuwa,

17. ٱذْهَبْ إِلَىٰ فِرْعَوْنَ إِنَّهُۥ طَغَىٰ ۝١٧

    79:17 (Saying:) Go thou unto Pharaoh - Lo! he hath rebelled -

18. فَقُلْ هَل لَّكَ إِلَىٰٓ أَن تَزَكَّىٰ ۝١٨

    79:18 And say (unto him): Hast thou (will) to grow (in grace)?

19. وَأَهْدِيَكَ إِلَىٰ رَبِّكَ فَتَخْشَىٰ ۝١٩

    79:19 Then I will guide thee to thy Lord and thou shalt fear (Him).

20. فَأَرَىٰهُ ٱلْـَٔايَةَ ٱلْكُبْرَىٰ ۝٢٠

    79:20 And he showed him the tremendous token.

21. فَكَذَّبَ وَعَصَىٰ ۝٢١

    79:21 But he denied and disobeyed,

22. ثُمَّ أَدْبَرَ يَسْعَىٰ ۝٢٢

    79:22 Then turned he away in haste,

23. فَحَشَرَ فَنَادَىٰ ۝٢٣

    79:23 Then gathered he and summoned

24. فَقَالَ أَنَا۠ رَبُّكُمُ ٱلْأَعْلَىٰ ۝٢٤

    79:24 And proclaimed: "I (Pharaoh) am your Lord the Highest."

25. فَأَخَذَهُ ٱللَّهُ نَكَالَ ٱلْـَٔاخِرَةِ وَٱلْأُولَىٰٓ ۝٢٥

    79:25 So Allah seized him (and made him) an example for the after (life) and for the former.

26. إِنَّ فِى ذَٰلِكَ لَعِبْرَةً لِّمَن يَخْشَىٰٓ ۝٢٦

    79:26 Lo! herein is indeed a lesson for him who feareth.

27. ءَأَنتُمْ أَشَدُّ خَلْقًا أَمِ ٱلسَّمَآءُ ۚ بَنَىٰهَا ۝٢٧

    79:27 Are ye the harder to create, or is the heaven that He built?

28. رَفَعَ سَمْكَهَا فَسَوَّىٰهَا ۝٢٨

    79:28 He raised the height thereof and ordered it;

29. وَأَغْطَشَ لَيْلَهَا وَأَخْرَجَ ضُحَىٰهَا ۝٢٩

    79:29 And He made dark the night thereof, and He brought forth the morn thereof.

30. وَٱلْأَرْضَ بَعْدَ ذَٰلِكَ دَحَىٰهَآ ۝٣٠

    79:30 And after that He spread the earth,

31. أَخْرَجَ مِنْهَا مَآءَهَا وَمَرْعَىٰهَا ۝٣١

    79:31 And produced therefrom the water thereof and the pasture thereof,

32. وَٱلْجِبَالَ أَرْسَىٰهَا ۝٣٢

    79:32 And He made fast the hills,

33. مَتَـٰعًا لَّكُمْ وَلِأَنْعَـٰمِكُمْ ۝٣٣

    79:33 A provision for you and for your cattle.

34. فَإِذَا جَآءَتِ ٱلطَّآمَّةُ ٱلْكُبْرَىٰ ۝٣٤

    79:34 But when the great disaster cometh,

35. يَوْمَ يَتَذَكَّرُ ٱلْإِنسَـٰنُ مَا سَعَىٰ ۝٣٥

    79:35 The day when man will call to mind his (whole) endeavour,

36. وَبُرِّزَتِ ٱلْجَحِيمُ لِمَن يَرَىٰ ۝٣٦

    79:36 And hell will stand forth visible to him who seeth,

37. فَأَمَّا مَن طَغَىٰ ۝٣٧

    79:37 Then, as for him who rebelled

38. وَءَاثَرَ ٱلْحَيَوٰةَ ٱلدُّنْيَا ۝٣٨

    79:38 And chose the life of the world,

39. فَإِنَّ ٱلْجَحِيمَ هِىَ ٱلْمَأْوَىٰ ۝٣٩

    79:39 Lo! hell will be his home.

40. وَأَمَّا مَنْ خَافَ مَقَامَ رَبِّهِۦ وَنَهَى ٱلنَّفْسَ عَنِ ٱلْهَوَىٰ ۝٤٠

    79:40 But as for him who feared to stand before his Lord and restrained his soul from lust,

41. فَإِنَّ ٱلْجَنَّةَ هِىَ ٱلْمَأْوَىٰ ۝٤١

    79:41 Lo! the Garden will be his home.

42. يَسْـَٔلُونَكَ عَنِ ٱلسَّاعَةِ أَيَّانَ مُرْسَىٰهَا ۝٤٢

    79:42 They ask thee of the Hour: when will it come to port?

43. فِيمَ أَنتَ مِن ذِكْرَىٰهَآ ۝٤٣

    79:43 Why (ask they)? What hast thou to tell thereof?

44. إِلَىٰ رَبِّكَ مُنتَهَىٰهَآ ۝٤٤

    79:44 Unto thy Lord belongeth (knowledge of) the term thereof.

45. إِنَّمَآ أَنتَ مُنذِرُ مَن يَخْشَىٰهَا ۝٤٥

    79:45 Thou art but a warner unto him who feareth it.

46. كَأَنَّهُمْ يَوْمَ يَرَوْنَهَا لَمْ يَلْبَثُوٓا۟ إِلَّا عَشِيَّةً أَوْ ضُحَىٰهَا ۝٤٦

    79:46 On the day when they behold it, it will be as if they had but tarried for an evening or the morn thereof.
