Al-Qari'ah The Calamity

1. بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ

   ٱلْقَارِعَةُ ۝١

   101:1 The Calamity!

2. مَا ٱلْقَارِعَةُ ۝٢

   101:2 What is the Calamity?

3. وَمَآ أَدْرَىٰكَ مَا ٱلْقَارِعَةُ ۝٣

   101:3 Ah, what will convey unto thee what the Calamity is!

4. يَوْمَ يَكُونُ ٱلنَّاسُ كَٱلْفَرَاشِ ٱلْمَبْثُوثِ ۝٤

   101:4 A day wherein mankind will be as thickly-scattered moths

5. وَتَكُونُ ٱلْجِبَالُ كَٱلْعِهْنِ ٱلْمَنفُوشِ ۝٥

   101:5 And the mountains will become as carded wool.

6. فَأَمَّا مَن ثَقُلَتْ مَوَٰزِينُهُۥ ۝٦

   101:6 Then, as for him whose scales are heavy (with good works),

7. فَهُوَ فِى عِيشَةٍ رَّاضِيَةٍ ۝٧

   101:7 He will live a pleasant life.

8. وَأَمَّا مَنْ خَفَّتْ مَوَٰزِينُهُۥ ۝٨

   101:8 But as for him whose scales are light,

9. فَأُمُّهُۥ هَاوِيَةٌ ۝٩

   101:9 A bereft and Hungry One will be his mother,

10. وَمَآ أَدْرَىٰكَ مَا هِيَهْ ۝١٠

    101:10 Ah, what will convey unto thee what she is! -

11. نَارٌ حَامِيَةٌۢ ۝١١

    101:11 Raging Fire.
